Darrah Doubles On Big Night At Lincoln

By Brad Vores  May 11, 2008

Cody Darrah put together a complete night on Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway and left the Pigeon Hills with his first two career 410 Sprint car feature wins.

After suffering a disappointing flat tire while leading last week’s Sterner Memorial at Lincoln, the 18 year old Red Lion High School senior proved he is ready to become one of the area’s top sprint car drivers with two impressive wins Saturday night.

Darrah started off the night winning the rained out feature from April 26 after chasing down Cory Haas on lap 20 and driving away for the win. He started 10th.
Darrah became the 182nd driver to win at Lincoln Speedway.

Alan Krimes finished second over Haas, 16th starting Cris Eash and Mechanicsburg’s Doug Dodson.

In the regular 25 lap feature, Darrah came through the field like a missle to take the lead from Haas on lap six and then had to keep track champion Fred Rahmer at bay over the final 10 laps.

Rahmer never caught Darrah’s J & K Salvage No. 89 sprinter and settled for second on a big night for the Darrah Motorsports team.

Brian Leppo finished third ahead of Eash and Krimes.

Kevin Nouse raced to his first 358 sprint car win of the year at Lincoln with a win over Steve Owings, Matt Boland, Dale Hammaker and Gerard McIntyre, Jr.
Gino Comi captured the thundercar win over Larry Neiderer, Duane Watson, Ronnie Thomas and Sam Gallagher.

CALAMAN FIRST REPEAT WINNER
Carlisle’s Dave Calaman became the first repeat winner in Selinsgrove Speedway 358 Sprint car action as he captured the 25-lap feature Saturday night.

Calaman started 10th and wasted little time in going to the front on lap 10 and then held on following a late race yellow to secure the win over Pat Cannon, Davie Franek, Brian Nornhold and Blane Heimbach.

Tony Adams raced to the 25-lap late model feature win over Jeff Rine, Coleby Frye, Steve Campbell and Eric Hons.

Jason Smith won the Ink Spot Printing Pro Stock 20 over Brian Towsey, AJ Atroup, Troy Miller and Peanut Heintzelman and Ray Rothfuss was the roadrunner winner.

WANNER TOPS THE GROVE
Stan Wanner led all 20 laps of Saturday night’s Super Sportsman feature at Williams Grove Speedway to collect his first win of the year.

Wanner held over defending champion Frankie Herr of Carlisle before taking the win with Mechanicsburg’s Dave Berkheimer third, Duaine Smith fourth and Summerdale’s Jason Fry fifth.

Mechanicsburg’s Steve Wilbur was taken to Hershey Medical Center and then transferred to Lehigh Valley Burn Center after suffering second degree burns on his ankles during the night.

Gettysburg’s Craig Wagaman captured his first career 358 late model feature over Bobby Beard, Nat Tuckey, Rick Singleton and Mike Goodwin.

Mike Wagner II raced to his second career Grove win in the PA 305 Sprint car feature with a win over Jim Kennedy, Rod Ort, Michael Heckman and Brent Comp.

Kory Sites scored another win in street stock competition over Smoke Christine, Rodney Clouser, Jim Salisbury and Kevin Wirt.

BILLET, POTTS SPLIT SUSKY
Carlisle’s Carl Billet raced to the win in the makeup 358 late model feature Saturday night at Susquehanna Speedway Park.

Billet took the lead from Gene Knaub on lap 12 and raced to the win over Knaub, Travis McClelland, Charles Potts and Cam Zeigler.

Gary Potts won the regular 20-lap 358 late model main over Steve Billet, Carl Graves, Jake Jones and Justin Ehrhart.

Craig Morgan won the street stock feature over Chad Smith, Wes Alleman, Scott Thunberg and Paul Morgan while Alleman won the makeup feature from April 26 over Joey Hoffer, Paul Morgan, Eric Walker and Craig Morgan.

Ray Broderick won the Xtreme stock car main and Ronnie Buck took the win in the 4-cylinders.

LAUDERMILCH GETS FIRST WIN
Boiling Springs racer Craig Laudermilch raced to a career first PA 305 Sprint car win Friday at Path Valley Speedway Park.

Laudermilch led all 20 laps in his win over Wes Zimmerman, Todd Spangler, Michael Heckman and Reed Thompson.

Enola’s Jake Murphy won the 600 Micro sprint car main over Shane Lewis, Newville’s Timmie Barrick, Tom Kohler and Tim Glatfelter while Sean McAndrew topped 270 Micro sprint action over Steve Whary, Levi Peck, Sean Good and Colby Dice.

Brent Marks raced to his second Sidewinder 1000 Micro Sprint win over Tim Mertz, Jason Morrison, Sean Campbell and Rich Hench.

Ricky Harper won the mini stocks and Buddy Smith topped thundercar action at Path Valley.
