Troutman's First Hagerstown Win Is A Big One

 It was a big night for cars numbered 151 Saturday at Hagerstown Speedway.

 DJ Troutman raced to a career first super late  model win in the 13th annual Richard “Boney” Bonebrake Tribute in the Chet Laye No. 151 while Kyle Lear raced to his second weekend win in his No. 151 late model sportsman machine.

 Troutman battled Nathan Durboraw for the top spot, taking the lead late in the event for the big win over Marvin Winters, Durboraw, Jim Yoder and Frankie Plessinger. Shermansdale’s Mike Lupfer finished 13th.

 Lear led the final five laps of the sportsman race for the win over Ashley Barrett, Scott Palmer, Richard Walls and Michael Collins with Shaun Jones 16th in a second Jerry Bard owned car with Shippensburg’s Bard 22nd.

 The track was also in action on Friday night as part of the special exhibition charity race night with all donations going to the Speedway Children’s Charity.

 Double late model sportsman features were on the card, one a makeup from May 3 that saw  Lear taking the win over James Myers, Shaun Jones, Brian Lessley and Pete Weaver. Bard finished eighth.

 In the regular 25-lap event, Derek Byler also visited victory lane for the first time at the track with a win over Ashley Barrett, Bard, Andy Fries and Tyler Armstrong. Jones was 18th.


SNYDER GETS SELINSGROVE FIRST
 Nate Snyder used a late race restart to grab the lead and went onto his first 25-lap 358 Sprint car win of the season Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.
 Aboard his family owned Pro Lawn Care sponsored sprinter, the Halifax driver drove around race-long leader Chuck Paige on a lap 22 restart and became the fifth different winner in six races this season at the Snyder County oval.

 It marked the 14th career win for Snyder at the track.

 He started sixth in the field and raced his way into second place by lap 10 before taking advantage of the restart 11 laps later.

 Larry Kelleher finished second ahead of points leader Pat Cannon in the Highlands Tire Service sprinter ahead of his brother Steve Cannon and Chuck Paige fifth.

 Donnie Schick raced to his first 25-lap late model win of the season after taking the lead on lap eight and driving to the win over Jeff Smith, Coleby Frye, Chris Shuey and Steve Campbell.

 AJ Stroup won his second pro stock feature over Troy Miller and Brad Mitch while Ricky Bender topped roadrunner action over Bill Benner, Jr. and Kyle Miller.


MICHAEL TOPS URC
 Ocean View, Delaware driver Curt Michael raced to his second win of the season in Saturday night URC Sprint action at Bridgeport Speedway.

 Michael, the defending and five time series champion started on the front row but lost the lead to Chris Coyle on lap eight.

 Michael stayed within striking distance of Coyle and retook the top spot for good on lap 17 and then drove to his 37th career URC win ahead of Coyle, Justin Collett, Randy West and JJ Grasso.


SHEPARD TOPS GRANDVIEW
 Grandview Speedway kicked off the Keystone Cup Sprint Series last Wednesday night and it was Jeff Shepard scoring the win, his fourth overall on the year.
 Shepard set a new one lap track record in time trials and led all 35 laps of the feature for the $5,000 paycheck.

 World of Outlaws regulars Daryn Pittman and Lucas Wolfe, of Mechanicsburg finished second and third followed by Fred Rahmer and Stevie Smith.

 Andy Martin was declared the ARDC Midget winner after Steve Buckwalter was disqualified by ARDC officials after a last lap incident with Billy Pauch, Jr.


HAUS TOPS AT PORT
 Scott Haus won for the third time in Port Royal Speedway late model action Saturday night.

 Haus took the win over Newport’s Steve Stitt, Mitch Hack, Tim Wilson and Eric Zembower.

 Dillsburg’s Rich Eichelberger raced to his first win of the season in the Super Sportsman Tour event over Bobby Hockenberry, Aaron Eichelberger, Stan Wanner and Leroy Martin. Summerdale’s JR Fry was eighth, Carlisle’s Frankie Herr ninth, Mechanicsburg’s Derek Locke 12th, Newville’s Russ Mitten 22nd and Summerdale’s Jason Fry 23rd.

 Cowboy Jim Kennedy took top honors in the PA 305 Sprint car feature over Brent Comp, Michael Wagner, Nathan Gramely and Boiling Springs’ Craig Laudermilch.

 Tim Krape won his fourth pro stock feature over Terry Naugle and Dan Berry.

POTTS AGAIN AT SUSKY
 For the second win in a row, Gary Potts raced to the 358 late model win at Susquehanna Speedway Park.

 Potts defeated Craig Wagaman, Steve Weikel, Jake Jones and Sam Leonard, Jr. with Carlisle’s Carl Billet sixth.

 Chad Smith won the street stock feature over Eric Walker, Craig Morgan, Gregory Diehl and Wes Alleman while it was Donnie Broderick and Ray Broderick splitting the two Xtreme Stock car features.


DEWEASE WINS AT LOWES
 Lance Dewease got some good TV exposure Friday night as the Fayetteville driver led all 30 laps of the Rite Aid Showdown World of Outlaws sanctioned event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

 The race was shown live on the SPEED channel.

 Dewease kept the Donny and Lisa Owens, Drees Homes sponsored sprinter out front in front during the entire race in front of a of a sell-out Charlotte crowd
 Jason Meyers finished second over Shane Stewart, Jac Haudenschild and Craig Dollansky.

 Mechanicsburg’s Lucas Wolfe was running second in the event before a fuel line problem sent him pitside.

 Meyers came back for his fifth WoO win of the season in Saturday’s first ever appearance by the Outlaws at Virginia Motor Speedway.

 Meyers led all but one lap of the 30 lap feature in his win over Daryn Pittman, Sam Hafertepe, Jr., Haudenschild and Joey Saldana. Wolfe finished eighth.

 
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
 Dustin Sheffield topped Saturday night 600 Micro Sprint action at Shippensburg Speedway winning over Brandon Yarlett, Jim Dawson, Bo Gordon and Brian Sherill. Cody Kershner took the mini stock win over Eddie Kirby and Roman Bard while Lyle Barnes was the thundercar winner.

 Greg Wilson won for the first time this season in O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions action at Ohio’s Fremont Speedway on Saturday. Wilson defeated Brock Mayes, Dean Jacobs, David Harrison and Randy Hannagan with Dewease finishing ninth.
