Two Straight For Pat Cannon

Pat Cannon made it a clean sweep in 358 sprint car competition as he blew away the field Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.

 The win was the second win on the weekend after his impressive Friday night win at Williams Grove Speedway.

 Cannon’s win at Selinsgrove was his second of the year at the Snyder County track and his fourth overall win this season in the Zane and Vicki Highlands owned  No. 3 sprint car.

 Cannon started 14th in the field but raced his way to the front on lap 18 with a pass on race long leader Charlie Anderson.

 Once in front, Cannon drove off to a big margin of victory over Anderson, Newville’s Todd Reed, Blane Heimbach and Jordan Frontz. 

 Jeff Smith became the sixth different winner in six late model feature events at the track.

 Smith’s 25-lap feature win was the 29th of his career and came over Bobby Croop, Al Shawver, Jr., Tony Adams and Dan Stone.

 Chad Davis picked up the pro stock win over Brad Trump and Peanut Heintzelman while Kyle Miller won the roadrunner feature over Keith Bissinger and Ricky Bender.


ROHRBAUGH GETS FIRST WIN
 Jeff Rohrbaugh returned to victory lane for the first time this season Friday at Trail-Way Speedway.

 Rorhbaugh, the two time defending track champion started eighth in the feature lineup and took the lead on a lap 15 restart.

 Rohrbaugh beat track points leader Bill Dietrich with Tim Wagaman, Danny Dietrich and Brad McClelland the top five finishers.

 Gettysburg’s Kyle Martin picked up his first thundercar win of the year over Rick Weaver, Justin Mong, Brad Shank and Joe Racine.


SMITH TOPS PORT ROYAL
 Mark Smith ended a dry spell by driving to his first 410 Sprint car feature win of the year Saturday at Port Royal Speedway.

 Smith passed Sean Michael on lap eight and never looked back in his 26th career Port Royal win with Mike Erdley, Michael, points leader Todd Shaffer and Keith Kauffman completing the top five.

 Scott Haus won for the fourth time in late model action at the Port defeating Mitch Hack, Scott Flickinger, Tim Gray and Eric Zembower.

 Derick Garman was the pro stock winner over Jim Palm, Neil Foust, Cliff Peffer and Terry Naugle.


TWO STRAIGHT FOR RINE
 After winning the big paycheck in last Sunday’s MACS sanctioned race at Bedford Speedway, Jeff Rine backed that up with his second straight win on Friday night in the 25-lap late model feature.

 This time Rine’s No. 92 late model ran topless in a topless special but he was still the class of the field, leading every lap in his win over Chris Harr, Greg Fetters, DJ Myers and Scott Haus.

 Rick Singleton won the topless limited late model feature win over Mike Shoemaker, Tim Smith, Jr., Robbie Black and Craig Perigo. 


MURPHY KEEPS ON WINNING
 Enola’s Jake Murphy raced to another 600 Micro Sprint car feature win Friday night at Path Valley Speedway Park.

 Murphy, who won last weekend at the Hesston Speedway came back for the win at PVSP after taking the lead on a lap five restart and driving to the win over Tom Kohler, Jimmy Brookens, Tyler Walton and Keith Woodson. 

 Tim Mertz won the Sidewinders 1000 Micro Sprint main over Ryan Greth, Aaron Spahr, Carlisle’s Rohan Beasley and Jason Morrison.

 Levi Peck took the 270 Micro win over Steve Whary, Sean Good, Sean McAndrew and Tanner Hunsicker while Geremy Sheaffer captured the Legend car feature win over Reed Salony, Josh Morrow, Greg Burd and Robert Sobieski.


OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
 Neil Petock made it two straight in Sprint car competition Friday night at Clinton County Speedway.

 Petock’s 25 lap win came over early leader Bob Howard with Blane Heimbach third, Daryl Stimeling fourth and Matt Miller fifth.

 Saturday night’s World of Outlaws late model event at Hagerstown Speedway was rained out and officials are working for a reschedule date.

 Williams Grove Speedway lost its Saturday Night Series show and it was the second time the Camera and Autograph Night was rained out.
 Susquehanna Speedway Park, Trail-Way and the URC Sprint series event at Delaware International Speedway was all rained out on Saturday.
