Aaron Ott had a night he will never forget at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday.

First, he  held off a last lap challenge from Brian Montieth to capture his first career 25-lap 410 Sprint car feature and then came back to take the big check in the 30-lap URC 360 Nationals.

Ott, who will be a senior at Bermudian Springs High School this fall, became the seventh different winner this season at the track.

Friday night’s racing was delayed by over an hour after late afternoon thunderstorms soaked the Monroe Township facility.

“I always wanted to win here in a 358 sprint but I never got it done,” said Ott, who drives a car owned by his parents Don and LeAnn Ott. “I can’t say enough about even racing at Williams Grove. This is just insane and then to win in a 410 is just great. I am having a blast racing here and I will never forget this night.”

Montieth was again the class of the field, driving from his 15th starting spot into the top five early and then took second with 12 laps complete.

Montieth was all over Ott with five laps to go when Ott cleared the lapped car of Adam Wilt but Montieth ran into Wilt on the front stretch. Montieth had the Jerry Parrish owned sprinter sideways but somehow gathered it back up and remained in second place, despite losing many car lengths.

Montieth drove back to Ott and made a final lap bid for the win, diving under Ott in turn three but Ott came off turn four ahead and won by a car length.

Ott started fourth in the feature and took the lead on the first lap.

The race was red flagged on lap five when AJ Michael and Bob Bennett tangled in turn three. Michael flipped as did Justin Henderson. Also involved were Greg Hodnett and Daryn Pittman.

“If I wanted to race with anyone this year, it would be Montieth,” said Ott after his $3,000 payday. “Even though we didn’t get to race much, he’s a great driver and a clean driver and he never gives up.”

Following Ott and Montieth was last week’s winner Don Kreitz, Jr., 17th starting Fred Rahmer and Alan Krimes with 18th starting Todd Shaffer, Doug Esh, Chris Meleason, Doug Dodson and Mark Smith completing the top 10 finishers.

The URC feature finished after midnight but it was Ott taking the win over Montieth, Cory Haas, Fred Rahmer and JJ Grasso to score the $4,000 payday in that event.
