For the second time this season, Danny Dietrich came out on top of the 410
Sprint car feature Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway.
Dietrich, a 410 sprint car rookie this season, virtually came out of no
where in Saturday night’s 25-lap feature after fading early in the event.
The Aspers driver sat up in the seat and moved into third place when a
caution on lap 20 slowed the field.
Dietrich blew around Shawn Weaver and Cory Haas for the top spot a lap
later and drove off for his second career win in the Racers Used Warehouse
No. 88.
Cris Eash finished in the runner-up spot over Weaver, points leader Alan
Krimes and Jim Siegel with Brian Montieth, Ed Aiken, Cory Haas, Brian Leppo
and Brent Marks the top 10 finishers.
Six time defending URC champion Curt Michael put some of his bad luck
behind him as he stormed to his second win of the season in the 25-lap URC
feature in the Pigeon Hills.
Michael went out front on lap 18 and took the win over Justin Collett,
points leader JJ Grasso, Brett Schoenly and Davey Sammons.
FIFTH WIN FOR CANNON
Pat Cannon got back on track Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway, driving to
his fifth win of the season in the 25-lap 358 Sprint car feature.
Cannon, of Etters moved the Zane and Vicki Highlands owned sprinter from
his 12th starting spot into the lead on lap 15 and easily scored his 15th
career track win over Colby Womer, Davie Franek, points leader Blane
Heimbach and TJ Stutts.
Jeff Rine continued his dominance over the late model field with his eighth
track win of the year as he heads for another point championship. Rine’s
latest win came over Donnie Schick, Coleby Frye, Tony Adams and Steve
Campbell.
Cody McFadden won for the first time in pro stock action while Ricky Bender
notched win number seven in the roadrunners.
BACK TO BACK FOR ESH
Doug Esh became the first driver to earn the $1,000 bonus this season at
Williams Grove Speedway as he stormed to his second straight 410 Sprint car
win Friday night.
Esh, of Lancaster started 17th and was able to drive to the front for the
second week in a row and took the lead from Adam Wilt on lap 20 for the win.
Rick Lafferty finished in the runner-up spot over Montieth, Dave Ely and
Wilt.
Glenndon Forsythe became the first repeat winner in Williams Grove 358
Sprint car action this season with his second win in Friday night’s 25-lap
championship event. He took the win over Mark Coldren, Frankie Herr, Scott
Geesey and Tony Smolenyak.
SHAFFER BACK IN VICTORY LANE
Todd Shaffer returned to Port Royal Speedway victory lane Saturday night
for the fourth time this season and moved a step closer to clinching his
fifth career 410 Sprint car championship as well.
Saturday night, Shaffer inherited the lead on lap 23 when Chad Layton blew
a motor while out front. Shaffer then held on for his 93rd career win in the
Beam Racing No. 88 over Keith Kauffman, Mike Erdley, Rick Lafferty and Cliff
Brian. Shaffer holds a 200 point advantage over Erdley with two point races
left on the schedule.
Gary Beward won for the first time in late model action at the track over
Tim Fedder, Eric Zembower, Jeff Johnson and Waylon Wagner.
Phil Griffith won the Super Sportsman feature leading the final 19 laps
over Gregg Foster, Lanny Hake, Aaron Eichelberger and Carmen Perigo, Jr.
Tim Krape won for the second time in track pro stock action.
FOUR STRAIGHT FOR FULLER
Tim Fuller is the hottest late model driver in the country as he made it
four straight World of Outlaws late model wins Saturday night at Hagerstown
Speedway.
Fuller’s four straight wins ties him with Rick Eckert as the only driver to
ever win four in a row with the series.
Fuller’s latest win came in the 50-lap feature at Hagerstown where he
defeated Josh Richards, Jason Covert, DJ Myers and Shane Clanton.
Fuller also won Friday night’s WoO event at Bedford Speedway over Steve
Francis, Darrell Lanigan, Josh Richards and Gregg Satterlee.
Fuller also won Thursday night at Grandview Speedway and last weekend in
Ohio.
KNAUB TAKES TRAILWAY
Gene Knaub started on the front row of Friday night’s 358 late model
Shootout event at Trail-Way Speedway and never looked back in taking his
sixth overall win of the season.
Bobby Beard finished second over Mike Spangler, Grant Adams and Rance
Garlock.
Sam Gallagher won the thundercar feature at Trail-Way over David Prunkl and
Justin Bittle.
FOURTEEN DIFFERENT WINNERS
Charles Potts became the 14th different winner in as many races this season
as he won the 358 late model feature Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway Park.
Potts kept the streak alive with four late model races remaining on the
schedule. He took the win over Travis McClelland, Jake Jones, Gene Knaub and
Kyle Saylor.
Garrett Shover scored the street stock feature win over Craig Morgan, Jim
Palm, Jr., Scott Thunberg and Dave Thompson, Jr.
Sam Rial won the Xtreme stocks and Brian Weitzel was the Central PA Legends
winner over Greg Burd and Harlon Leppo.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
Mark Watkins was the Friday night PASS 305 Sprint car winner at Path Valley
Speedway Park. He won over Rodney Westhafer, Matt Mountz, Dave Wilson and
Ryan Lynn. Levi Peck won the 270 Micros over Ryan McAndrew, Sean McAndrew,
Steve Whary and Bryan Hart while Kevin Steele was the 600 Micro winner over
Tyler Walton, Rob Kendall, Jake Murphy and Dusty Foust. Tim Mertz won both
Sidewinder features, one a makeup from June 29th over Donnie Hendershot,
Mark Strickler, Jesse Snyder and Alex Schanz. Mertz won the regular feature
over Mike Pychinka, Strickler, Craig Myers and Chad Hough. Lyle Barnes (thundercars)
and Kevin Thomas (mini stocks) were other track winners.
Rick Eckert won Wednesday night’s Chargin Charlie Grinestaff Memorial for
late models at Lincoln Speedway. The race was a makeup event from the
Appalachian Mountain Speedweek. Eckert took the win over Jason Covert, Josh
Richards, Jeff Rine and Booper Bare. Kory Sites was the street stock winner.
Brian Racine won Saturday night’s 600 Micro feature at Trail-Way Speedway
over Shawn Seifert, Jeremy Mehring, Dwayne Gutshall and Josh Schrum while
Nik Gower was the 270 Micro winner over Todd Hoover, Cody Phillips, Dave
Schreiber and David Holbrook. Shippensburg’s Rich Halter won the Sidewinders
over Racine, Mark Strickler, Chad Myers and Don Harvey.
