Mother Nature once again came out on top of local auto racing Saturday
night.
In what has seemed like a broken record all season long, rain forced
area speedway’s to postpone or cancel racing programs last night.
Lincoln Speedway will now race Sunday night with its Hank Gentzler
Memorial for 410 Sprints. It will also be Manufacturers Night at the
track. Gates will open today at 4pm with time trials beginning at 6pm.
The thundercars are also on the card.
Selinsgrove Speedway was also forced to postpone the Paul Stine
Chevrolet 358 Sprint Nationals until Sunday. Time trials for the 358
sprints will begin at 6:30pm. Pro stocks and roadrunners are on the card
as well.
Trail-Way Speedway postponed the 20th annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial
for Micro Sprints until Sunday at 5pm. The 600, 270 and 1,000 Micros are
on the card at the Hanover track.
Williams Grove Speedway canceled it’s Saturday Night Series for
Sportsman, street stocks and 4-cylinders. It will not be made up.
The World of Outlaws postponed Saturday night’s Commonwealth Clash at
Lernerville Speedway in Sarver until Saturday night, October 31st. It
will be the third from final points race for the Outlaws this season.
Cody Darrah was scheduled to make a start in the Kasey Kahne Racing
owned DirectTV No. 19 last night at Lernerville.
The United Racing Club’s Saturday night event at Delaware International
Speedway was canceled and will not be made up.
Gene Knaub came out on top of Friday night’s 358 late model portion of
the Thunder on the Farm event at Trail-Way Speedway.
Knaub took the lead from Kyle Lear on lap 34 and drove to his eighth
overall win of the season. The win was worth $1,200 for the Dover
driver.
Mike Walls finished second and clinched the Trail-Way 358 late model
track title. Lear faded to third over Shaun Jones, Brian Lessley,
Charles Potts, Nat Tuckey, Craig Wagaman, Rance Garlock and Ronnie
Dennis.
Sam Gallagher won the 50-lap thundercar event at the track and clinched
the 2009 track title in the process. Gallagher won over Danny Beard,
Jamie Zentmyer, Marshall McMullen and Rick Weaver.
Hunter Nester was the All American Outlaws winner and Daryl Hanson won
the limited stocks.
