Just two weeks after turning 18, Aaron Ott raced to his first career 410 Sprint car feature win Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway.

The East Berlin driver started sixth on the grid for Saturday’s 25-lap event and wasted no time in racing his way into the lead by the fifth lap.

While Ott was out front, there was plenty of action going on behind him as Brian Montieth came from 16th in the field and Fred Rahmer and Doug Esh were battling hard on the track.

Drama set in on the final lap when Esh got into the side of Rahmer, causing both drivers to spin as they were battling for the runner-up position.

But none of this rattled Ott, a senior at Bermudian Springs High School who captured the checkered flag to add his name to the long list of feature winners in the Pigeon Hills.

Montieth finished second with Adam Wilt coming from the rear of the field after being involved in a first lap crash to finish in the third spot. Fourth went to 12th starting Alan Krimes over Gerard McIntyre, Jr.

Abbottstown’s Eric Tomecek also recorded his first career Lincoln win in the 20-lap 358 Sprint car feature event.

Tomecek inherited the lead when last week’s winner Jeff Rohrbaugh went pitside after leading the first 15 laps. Tomecek then drove to the win over Billy Johns, Tim Wagaman, Dale Hammaker and Glenndon Forsythe.

Mike Slaybaugh won the thundercar feature over Brad Shank, Brian Walls, Kyle Martin and Larry Neiderer.

CANNON ROMPS AT SELINSGROVE
It was a big week for the Newville-based Highlands Tire and Service team.

Thursday night, crew chief Matt Highlands and wife Missy became parents for the first time as they welcomed a little girl named Olivia into the world.

Then on Saturday night, the Highlands sprint car driver Pat Cannon was back at work taking an impressive win in the 25-lap 358 Sprint car feature at Selinsgrove Speedway.

Cannon started fifth in the field and took control of the event on lap 10 and drove off to his 18th career track win and second overall on the season in the Zane and Vicki Highlands owned machine.

Phil Walter finished second with TJ Stutts third, Blane Heimbach fourth and Nate Snyder fifth.

Jeff Rine completely dominated the 25 lap late model feature for his third overall win of the season and 56th career at Selinsgrove over Jim Yoder, Steve Campbell, Eric Hons and Dave Zona.

Miller started on the pole aboard the Mike Callahan owned machine and led all the way.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jay Fannasy, Mike Enders, Ryan Rupp, Leroy Martin and Lanny Hake.

Bobby Beard captured the 20-lap 358 late model feature win after taking the lead on lap 18 and won over Craig Wagaman, Pat Beard, Scott Richwine and Chase Billet.

Doug Hoffman started the season out in victory lane in the street stock feature over Bob Gutshall, Craig Morgan, Greg Diehl and Chad Smith.

Kevin Thomas won the 4-cylinder feature over John Stoll, Jr., Ed Hollenbach, Brian Wentzel and Joe Jakubic.

COVERT DOMINATES THREE STATE FLYERS
It was all Jason Covert in Saturday night’s Three State Flyers late model event at Hagerstown Speedway.

The York Haven driver destroyed the field as he took the win by a ten-second margin over Billy Wampler at the Hub City oval. Covert won three TSF events at the track last season.

Covert led all 35 laps in the win over Wampler, Greg Satterlee, Roy Deese, Jr. and Frankie Plessinger.

Mike Warrenfeltz won the pure stock feature over Darrin Younker and Danny Beavers.
