The
Selinsgrove Speedway domination is over, at least for this week.
Nate Snyder tracked down Pat Cannon on the final lap of Saturday’s
30-lap Firecracker Special for 358 Sprints to bring home the big
$2,000 payday for his second win of the season.
Snyder raced around leader Davie Franek and Cannon on lap 15 as
Cannon got into second a lap later.
Cannon, who has won the last four races at the track, took the lead
from Snyder on lap 19 and pulled away but Snyder, of Halifax made up
a lot of ground on the final lap and executed a final lap, final
turn pass on Cannon for the win, his 16th career at the track.
Franek, Blane Heimbach and TJ Stutts were the top five finishers.
Young Dylan Yoder made it three straight in Selinsgrove late model
competition as he drove from his 10th starting spot into the lead on
lap seven. Yoder then stretched his lead to over four seconds at the
checkered flag over points leader Jeff Rine.
Yoder’s latest win came in his normal ride-the Krenn Racing entry
but his first two came aboard his father’s No. 27.
Rine, Kyle Rhoads, Jim Yoder and Brett Schadel were the top five.
Matt Johnson was awarded the pro stock win when race winner Dave
Brouse, Jr. was disqualified for rough riding and Jason Sherman won
the roadrunners.
GEESEY TOPS LINCOLN
Scott Geesey started on the pole of Saturday’s 358 Sprint car
feature at Lincoln Speedway and led all the way for his first win of
the year at the track.
Chad Trout finished second over Tim Wagaman, Keith Prutzman and
Logan Schuchart.
DJ Mease recorded a career first 358 late model win at Lincoln over
Gene Knaub, Grant Adams, John Ebersole and Shaun Jones.
Ryan Rupp managed to miss all of the crashes to win the 20-lap
Super Sportsman feature as he led all 25 laps over Chad Criswell,
Duaine Smith, Jason Fry and Steve Wilbur.
PLESSINGER ROMPS AT HAGERSTOWN
Frankie Plessinger won his biggest career race Saturday night at
Hagerstown Speedway.
The son of the track owner picked up the win in the 50 lap Johnny
Roberts Memorial which was his ninth career track win but first in
15 months.
He defeated Al Shawver, Jr., Gary Stuhler, Jamie Lathroum and JT
Spence.
Defending late model sportsman champion Kyle Lear ended his season
of frustration with his first win of the year in the 20-lap LMS
feature over Pete Weaver, Barry Miller, Andy Fries and Ashley
Barrett.
Mike Warrenfeltz won another pure stock main over Steve Lowery and
Hans Stamberg.
SECOND WIN FOR BITTINGER
Mike Bittinger captured his second 358 Sprint car win of the season
Friday at Trail-Way Speedway.
Bittinger took the lead on lap 12 and drove off for his 12th career
track win over Logan Schuchart, Mike Duncan, Jr., Dale Hammaker and
Kyle Moody.
Fred Cullum won the All American Outlaws feature and Brian Walls
topped the thundercars.
COVERT MASTERS BEDFORD
Jason Covert dominated Friday’s Three State Flyers event at Bedford
Speedway as he took the lead on lap 13 and never looked back in
scoring his fifth overall win of the year.
Jeff Rine finished second over Jeremy Miller, Nick Dickson and
Bryan Bernheisel.
Robbie Black won the limited late model main over Rance Garlock and
Daniel Cornman.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
Randy West held off a final lap bid from JJ Grasso to win his first
URC sprint feature of the year Saturday at New Egypt Speedway.
Justin Collett, Josh Weller and Kenny Meisner were the top five
finishers.
Larry Baer won his second 358 late model feature of the year
Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway Park over Justin Ehrhart, Jake
Jones, Charles Potts and John Moser, Jr. Randy Zechman was the
street stock winner while Donnie Broderick won the Xtreme Stocks.
Donnie Hendershot won Friday’s Sidewinder feature at Path Valley
Speedway over Joe Robertson and Mike Zielonis while Ryan McAndrew
scored the 270 Micro win over Levi Peck and Steve Whary. Nate Fisher
won the Legends main over Scott Houdeshell and Geremy Sheaffer with
Frank Gordon (mini stocks) and DJ Keefer (thundercars) also track
winners.
