Lucas Wolfe
ended the Williams Grove Speedway season on a winning note after a
convincing win in the 25-lap 410 Sprint car portion of the Fallfest on
Saturday night.
With the top six in points inverted, Wolfe, of Mechanicsburg beat Mark
Smith into turn one and never looked back despite numerous cautions that
kept the field closed.
Wolfe, aboard the Jim and Laura Allebach-owned, Rick’s Auto Body/Auto Care
sponsored No. 5W was the class of the field in his sixth overall 410 win
this season. It was his second at Williams Grove this year and seventh of
his career.
Fred Rahmer was second with 2007 track champion Todd Shaffer coming from
sixth to finish third.
Greg Hodnett finished fourth with a broken front wing and Mark Smith faded
to fifth over Lance Dewease, Doug Esh, TJ Stutts, Brian Montieth and Chad
Layton.
Pat Cannon picked up his 11th win of the season and fifth at the Grove in
the 20 lap 358 Sprint car event.
Cannon drove the Highlands Tire Service sprinter from the 12th starting
spot into the lead on lap eight and drove off from the field for the win
over Adam Wilt, Dave Calaman, Nate Hammaker and Adrian Shaffer.
Chad Criswell, Kyle Pruitt, Frankie Herr, Chad Trout and Billy Johns were
the top 10 finishers.
Danny Hager won for the second straight time in the Super Sportsman event
over Carmen Perigo, Jr., Paul Miller, Rich Eichelberger and Scott Dellinger.
Rounding out the top 10 were Frankie Herr, Bobby Hockenberry, Leroy Martin,
John Stehman and David Socks.
Tyler Armstrong led all the way to win the 20-lap 358 late model main over
Shaun Jones, Pat Beard, Bernie Beard and Travis Mease with Mike Spangler,
Mike Walls, Tyler Hershey, Carl Billet and Bobby Beard.
KNAUB WINS TRAILWAY
Gene Knaub picked up the big $1,000 payday in the 40-lap 358 late model
main at Trail-Way Speedway.
Knaub led the entire distance in his win over Carl Billet, Tyler Armstrong,
Jake Lettich and Tyler Hershey.
Rodney Clouser won the street stock/thundercar 20 lapper over Jennifer
Scott, Craig Wagaman, Neil Smith and Danny Beard while Doug Bennett recorded
the street stock win over Ron Shultz, Todd Miller, Brad Shank and Will
Walls.
AIKEN TOPS URC AGAIN
Ed Aiken picked up his second win of the season on the URC Sprint car tour
Saturday at New Egypt Speedway.
Aiken drove by Brian Seidel on lap 16 and then held off Seidel, 2007
champion Curt Michael, Chris Coyle and Michael Carber.
BARRICK TOPS PATH VALLEY
Newville’s Timmie Barrick ended a season long winless slump by winning the
final 600 Micro Sprint feature of the year Friday at Path Valley Speedway.
Barrick led the entire distance in the win over Brianna Hershey, Kevin
Steele, Tyler Devault and Tom Naylor.
Chris Melton won the 270 Micro sprint feature over Tom Tice, Colby Dice, J
D Abrahams and Steve Whary while Geremey Sheaffer topped Legend car action
over Jason Rochelle, Nathan Fisther, Shawn Arndt and Scott Houdeshell.
Steve Bailor won the super stocks over Steve Harlon and Josh Berrier while
Lyle Barnes topped the thundercars over Jeremy Ott and Tom Crum.
