Fred Rahmer turned a front row starting spot into a $7,500 payday in
Saturday night’s Kenny Weld Memorial at Lincoln Speedway.
Rahmer timed seventh in the 34 car field and moved to the pole when fast
timer Cody Darrah failed to qualify in his heat race. Darrah had drew the
six inversion for the feature.
Rahmer led early while Jeff Shepard and Lucas Wolfe battled for the
runner-up spot when Wolfe took the spot on lap seven.
Wolfe quickly closed on Rahmer but made contact with the track champion on
lap eight, suffered a flat tire and spun out.
Shepard then gave Rahmer all he could handle for a few laps until Rahmer
took the lead for good on lap 18 and never looked back in his 154th career
win at the track and sixth this season. It was his seventh overall win in
2007 in the Chad and Jenn Clemens owned sprinter. The team announced they
would be together again next season.
Shepard finished second with Stevie Smith third, Cris Eash fourth and Brian
Leppo fifth.
Rounding out the top 10 were Doug Esh, Greg Hodnett, Alan Krimes, Mark
Smith and 24th starting Chad Layton.
Duane Watson won the regular 20 lap thundercar main and moved to within 10
points of the lead in the division point standings. He won over Neil Smith,
Ronnie Thomas, Larry Neiderer and Jimmy Combs.
Craig Wagaman won the makeup thundercar feature postponed from August 28
over Watson, Combs, Smith and Danny Beard.

Pumpkin 200 at Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday and picked up a nice
paycheck for doing so.
Broderick took the lead from Goodwin on lap 140 of the 150 lap test and
claimed the $1,000 bounty placed on Goodwin, who has won three out of the
last four Pumpkin races. Goodwin started last and led laps 121 through 139.
He finished second over Bill Powell, Larry Landis and Carlisle’s Matt Smith.
Carlisle’s Jim Smith was 26th.
Bill Brown, Sr. won the Classic Car feature over Joe Snodgrass and Al
Daniels while Bob Campbell won the Vintage car main over Bob Casti.
COVERT WINS AT THE ROCK

night win on opening night of the Big Kahuna VII at the Rock, Allegany Motor
