Kevin Nouse turned the tables on Mike Erdley Saturday at Port Royal
Speedway.
Nouse lost Friday night’s lead to Erdley at Williams Grove in the All
Star event but Saturday at the Port, Nouse drove by Port’s defending
track champion on the 18th lap and went onto score his second 25-lap
sprint car win of the season at the track.
Nouse’s win was his third overall this season in the Bryan Golden-owned
No. 12 sprinter.
Erdley finished in the runner-up spot ahead of points leader Keith
Kauffman, Sean Michael and Clark Simonton, Jr. Enola’s Bob Howard
finished 11th, while Todd Shaffer was involved in a crash in the Beam
Racing owned sprinter and was paid for 19th spot.
Tim Wilson captured his first 20-lap late model win of the season over
Scott Haus, Waylon Wagner, Eric Zembower and Mike Hess. Shermansdale’s
Scott Lupfer placed 16th.
Tim Krape won another pro stock main over John Heane and Bill Powell
while Dave Leidy took the 4-cylinder win over Ralph Morgan, Jr. and Tim
Burkholder.
Greg Hodnett won Thursday night’s All Star sprint car feature at the
Port after taking the lead with three laps to go when Doug Esh suffered
a blown tire.
Hodnett’s sixth overall win of the year came over Fred Rahmer, Nouse,
Greg Wilson and Kauffman.
BILLET WINS FOURTH
Carlisle’s Carl Billet raced to his fourth late model win of the year
Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway Park.
Billet, who leads the points at SSP took the lead on lap 16 and drove
to the win over Sterling Kinard, Carl Graves, Mike Walls and Randy
Christine, Jr. Dillsburg’s Gerry Stutting, Jr. finished eighth,
Shermansdale’s Jake Jones 18th and Carlisle’s Scott Richwine 19th.
Kory Sites picked up his second win of the year in SSP street stock
action over Steve Dove, Newville’s Gary Johnston, Joe whitely and Joey
Hoffer. Carlisle’s Brian Hauenstein placed 17th.
Wellsville’s John Stoll, Jr. won the 4-cylinder main over Ronnie Buck
and John Henry while Matt Wampler won the Xtreme Stock car main over
Brent Fogelsonger and Mike Goodwin. Shippensburg’s Charlie Pensinger was
eighth.
Dave Ely was the Thursday night ARDC Midget winner at SSP over Tracy
Readinger and Brent Arndt while Tom Mayberry took the Legends car win
over Randy Kissinger and Tyler Bear.
FEATHERS WINS SHOOTOUT
After blowing the motor in his own car during warmups Saturday at
Hagerstown Speedway, Bo Feathers climbed in fellow racer Sean Cosgrove’s
late model and never lost a beat.
Feathers took the lead on the seventh lap of the 40-lap
Hagerstown/Winchester Shootout and blew away the field for his third win
of the year at the track. He won over Jeremy Miller, Kirk Ryan, Jr.,
Gary Stuhler and Jamie Lathroum. Shermansdale’s Mike Lupfer did not
qualify in the 44-car field.
J.T. Spence won the Friday night Shootout event at Winchester which was
the Lee Stultz Memorial and paid a cool $10,000 to win.
Feathers also won the overall Shootout points title over Spence and
Andy Anderson.
Arlin Brougher captured his second late model sportsman win of the year
at Hagerstown over Brian Lessley, Andy Fries, Al Shawver, Sr. and Kyle
Lear. Shippensburg’s Jerry Bard finished 13th.
STEHMAN WINS FIRST SPORTSMAN MAIN
John Stehman picked up his first Super Sportsman feature win of the
year Saturday at Trail-Way Speedway.
Stehman’s win came on the Sportsman Tour after taking the lead on lap
19 from John Garman.
He then won over Carmen Perigo, Jr., Garman, Rocky Magaro and Glenn
Keller with Summerdale’s JR Fry sixth over 24th starting Frankie Herr of
Carlisle, Newville’s Russ Mitten, Danny Hager and Dillsburg’s Rich
Eichelberger. Summerdale’s Jason Fry was 16th, Dillsburg’s Ryan Rupp
17th and Mechanicsburg’s Steve Wilbur 20th.
Brian Brehm won the 600 Micro Sprint feature over Shippensburg’s Dwayne
Gutshall, Newville’s Timmie Barrick, Eddie Rice and Tyler Esh. Enola’s
Jake Murphy was eighth and Mt Holly’s Ricky Stonebraker 17th.
Jason Rochelle won the Legends event over Greg Burd and Frank Polimeda.
In Friday night Trail-Way action, York’s Jeff Rohrbaugh grabbed his
first 358 Sprint car win of the season in the Vincent Racing JEI
Chassis.
He came from the 15th starting spot into the lead on lap 17 and won
over Brad McClelland, Danny Dietrich, Nick Palmerino and Randy Whisler.
Carlisle’s Jake Raudabaugh was 19th and Carlisle’s Frankie Herr 22nd.
Sam Gallagher won the thundercar feature over Nat Tuckey and Craig
Wagaman and Dan Furman topped street stock action.
FIRST EVER WIN FOR KELLEHER
Larry Kelleher raced to his first ever 358 Sprint car win Saturday at
Selinsgrove Speedway.
Kelleher started fifth and took control of the race on the sixth lap
and held off points leader Blane Heimbach for the feature win.
Carlisle’s Dave Calaman was third over Mike Walter and Adrian Shaffer.
Pat Cannon’s Highlands Tire entry was involved in a crash and finished
23rd while Carlisle’s Jason Shultz was 24th after a violent first lap
crash.
Jim Yoder took the late model win over Mike Bingaman, Brett Schadel,
Chris Wilkinson and Craig Swartzlander while Lon Savage, Jr. won the pro
stocks and Donnie Murphy topped roadrunner action.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
Jeff Rine topped Bedford Speedway late model action on Friday over Ron
Delano, Jack Pencil, Scott Rhodes and Wayne Johnson. Mike Altobelli won
the limited late model main with Newville’s Donnie Farling finishing
fourth.
Ryan McAndrew was the 270 Micro winner at Path Valley Speedway over
Sean McAndrew and Heath Hehnly.
Donnie Hendershot defeated Hehnly to win the Sidewinders 1000 Sprints
feature and it was Jesse Fitz taking the 600 Micro Sprint win over Jim
Brookens, Jake Murphy, Jeremy Ginder and AJ Bast. Barrick was eighth.
Josh Weller won his first career URC sprint car main Saturday at
Grandview Speedway over Chris Coyle, Curt Michael, Ed Aiken and Kramer
Williamson.
Dusty Foust was the Shippensburg Speedway 600 Micro winner Saturday
over Mike Holley, Dustin Sheffield, Bo Gordon and Ryan Hook while Keith
Arnolt (thunder rear), Dillon Stake (cyclones), Eddie Kirby (mini
stocks) and Adam Adams (slick track) were other winners.
