Mother Nature had the upper hand on night number five
of the 17th annual running of Cindy Rowe Auto Glass Pennsylvania Sprint
Speedweek Thursday night.
Port Royal Speedway officials were forced to cancel after heavy rains
drenched the area for several hours. It was the first of two scheduled
Speedweek shows at the Juniata County oval.
Pennsylvania Speedweek continues Friday night with the Mitch Smith
Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway. It will also serve as the fourth
annual Diakon Adoption Night at the speedway. Fireworks are also on the
program.
Speedweek continues Saturday at Port Royal and will end Sunday at
Selinsgrove Speedway.
Mechanicsburg’s Lucas Wolfe leads the Speedweek points with 576 points.
Greg Hodnett is second in points with 568 followed by Stevie Smith with
538, Lance Dewease with 483 and Todd Shaffer with 431. Chad Layton
(430), Brian Leppo (429), Keith Kauffman (363), Fred Rahmer (318) and TJ
Stutts (315) round out the top 10 in points for the week. Wolfe has put
together a consistent week of finishes but has yet to break into Victory
lane during the series.
