After
week after week of not qualifying, Michael Carber finally put together a
good night at Williams Grove Speedway and it resulted in his first career
410 Sprint car victory Friday night at the track.
Carber started on the pole and held off late charges by Todd Shaffer before
scoring the win in the Steve Miller owned No. 22Z sprinter.
Shaffer settled for second over Chad Layton, Brian Montieth and Blane
Heimbach.
Pat Cannon piloted the Highlands Tire and Service sprinter to victory in
the 25-lap 358 Sprint car Championship at the Grove.
Cannon charged from 12th into the lead on lap nine and drove off from the
field for his fourth win of the year.
Adrian Shaffer, Cory Haas, Frankie Herr and John Barnett were the top five
finishers.
THE EDGE TOPS LINCOLN
Brian Montieth returned to Victory lane Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway.
Montieth powered his way from 10th to first in just 10 laps and was never
challenged in his second 410 Sprint car win of the year at the track and
ninth career win.
Doug Esh rode home second ahead of Cory Haas, Cris Eash and Johnny Mackison,
Jr.
Aspers’ Billy Dietrich raced to his first 20-lap 358 sprint car win of the
year over Dale Hammaker, Jeff Rohrbaugh, Scott Geesey and Danny Dietrich.
Duane Watson scored the big payday in the $1,000 to win Thundercar
championship winning over Ronnie Thomas, Larry Neiderer, Danny Beard and Sam
Gallagher.
SHAFFER WINS AT PORT
Todd Shaffer drove the Gary and Patty Beam owned sprinter to victory in
Saturday night 410 Sprint car racing at Port Royal Speedway.
Shaffer took the lead on the 15th lap from Jay Reichard and drove off to
his 85th career win at the track over points leader Keith Kauffman, Kevin
Nouse, Reichard and Bill Brian, Jr.
Scott Haus picked up the late model feature win over Mitch Hack, Scott
Flickinger, Steve Campbell and Mike Hess.
Todd Snook raced to the pro stock win over Derick Garman, Dan Berry, Harold
Ranck, Jr. and Bill Powell.
FANNASY TAKES GROVE WIN
Steve Fannasy raced to his first win of the year in Saturday night Super
Sportsman action at Williams Grove Speedway.
Fannasy led the entire distance in the win over Glenn Keller, Jason Fry,
Frankie Herr and Duaine Smith.
Points leader Tyler Hershey won a thrilling 20-lap 358 late model feature
with a lap race pass to take the win over Gene Knaub, John Ebersole, Tyler
Armstrong and Travis Mease.
Kory Sites was victorious in street stock action over Dave Motter, Rodney
Clouser, Gary Johnston and Randy Patterson while John Stoll, Jr. won another
4-cylinder feature over Grant Adams, Ed Hollenbach, Brian Wentzel and John
Henry.
CALAMAN BACK ON TOP
Carlisle’s Dave Calaman came from the rear of the field to post his fifth
win of the year in 358 sprint car action at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Calaman was involved in a first lap melee which resulted in a flat tire.
He blasted his way back to the front and took the win over Phil Walter,
Joey Borich, Blane Heimbach and Brian Nornhold.
Jeff Rine posted another late model win over Chris Shuey, Donnie Schick,
Rob Ormsbee and Tony Adams while Gary Beward took the pro stock win and Gary
Kerstetter was the roadrunner winner.
ROOKIE WINNER AT SUSKY
Young Cam Zeigler raced to his first career 358 late model win Saturday at
Susquehanna Speedway Park.
Zeigler wired the field for the win over Jake Jones, Bud Barton, Carl
Billet and Chuck Yingling.
Joey Hoffer topped street stock action over Kevin Sigler, Steve Dove, Wes
Alleman and Scott Thunberg while Mike Goodwin was the Xtreme Stock car
winner.
SMITH TAKES SECOND WIN
Brent Smith was back in victory lane Saturday following his second late
model win of the year at Hagerstown Speedway.
Smith took the lead on lap 19 and held on for the win over Jamie Lathroum,
Bo Feathers, Alan Sagi and Gary Stuhler.
Kyle Lear topped the late model sportsman feature winning over James Myers,
Pete Weaver, Cody Lear and Andy Fries.
ROHRBAUGH ON FIRE
Jeff Rohrbaugh has hit a summer hot spell as he captured another Friday
night 358 Sprint car win at Trail-Way speedway.
Rohrbaugh’s win was his second of the year and it came over Mike Bittinger,
Danny Dietrich, Randy Whisler and Randy Davis, Jr.
Craig Wagaman took the thundercar win over Tony Rose and Larry Neiderer
while Doug Bennett topped street stock action over Randy May and Seth
Kearchner.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
Bo Feathers was the Friday night late model winner at Bedford Speedway over
Jeff Rine, Wayne Johnson, Jack Pencil and Steve Everhart.
Tyler DeVault captured the 600 Micro Sprint win at Path Valley Speedway
over Aaron Spahr, Jake Murphy, Heath Hehnly and AJ Bast with Brian Marriott
winning the 270 Micro Sprint feature over Sean McAndrew, Ryan McAndrew, Rich
Shepard and Hehnly. Other track winners were Steve Nederosteck in the
Legends, John Rasp in thunderscars, Donnie Hendershot in the 1000
Sidewinders and Kevin Thomas in the mini stocks.
Robbie Kendall recorded his first ever 600 Micro Sprint win at Trail-Way
Speedway over Brent Marks, Dwayne Gutshall, Tim Glatfelter and Brian Brehm.
Dave Schreiber topped the Trail-Way 270’s over Todd Hoover, Cody Philips,
Steve Whary and Nik Gower.
Dave DiMaio topped Shippensburg Speedway 600 Micro Sprint action Saturday
over Bo Gordon, Dusty Foust, Mike Holley and Marcus DeFrietias.
Chris Coyle was the URC Sprint car winner Orange County Speedway Saturday
night over Trevor Lewis, Becca Anderson, Ed Aiken and Jason Clauss.
