Cannon was back at it Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Cannon and the Zane and Vicky Highlands owned team returned to Saturday’s
regular 358 sprint car show at the Snyder County oval and left with their
third win of the season.
After leaving the track a few weeks back and opting to race at Lincoln
Speedway, where Cannon won a few features, the team returned to Selinsgrove
last week and rode off with the big $5,000 payday in the Summer Nationals.
Saturday night, it was business as usual for the Etters driver, coming from
his 12th starting spot into the lead on lap 21 and driving away for the win,
his 10th overall win this season in the Highlands Tire and Service Centers,
H & H Chevrolet, Newville Construction Services, Boiling Springs Service
Center No. 3 sprinter.
Nate Snyder finished second ahead of early leader Matt Heimbach, Colby
Womer and Len Krautheim. Carlisle’s Dave Calaman took over the track points
lead with his seventh place finish. Carlisle’s Jason Shultz finished 13th.
Dover’s Coleby Womer raced to his third late model win of the year at
Selinsgrove over Alan Sagi, Jeff Smith, Nick Dickson and Randy Paxton.
Troy Miller won the pro stock feature while Keith Bissinger topped
roadrunner action.
SEVENTH WIN FOR BILLET
Carlisle’s Carl Billet took another step towards a championship with his
seventh 358 late model win of the year Saturday at Susquehanna Speedway
Park.
Billet waited out a long rain delay before posting the win after leading
most of the 20 lap feature.
Bud Witmer, Chuck Yingling, Randy Christine, Jr. and Carl Graves were the
top five finishers with Carlisle’s Scott Richwine 14th.
Joey Hoffer scored his second street stock win over Brian Shue, Paul
Morgan, Scott Thunberg and Carlisle’s Brian Hauenstein.
Ray Broderick topped Xtreme Stock car action over Larry Landis and Thomas
Johns while Jeff Condran took the Legends car win over Geremy Sheaffer and
Scott Houdeschell.
KNAUB REPEATS AT THE GROVE
Gene Knaub raced his way back to Victory Lane in the final Saturday Night
Series event of the year at Williams Grove Speedway.
Knaub powered to the 20 lap 358 late model win ahead of Tyler Armstrong and
Tyler Hershey, both who came from the rear of the field after early race
incidents. Fourth went to Jake Lettich over Travis Mease. Carlisle’s Dave
Sokoloski was 13th and Shippensburg’s Jerry Bard 14th.
Knaub then headed to Susquehanna Speedway Park, who was rain delayed and
finished eighth in the late model feature later in the night.
Wellsville’s John Stoll, Jr. picked up another 4-cylinder feature win over
Eric Hollenbach, John Henry, Grant Adams and Kevin Thomas.
Kory Sites raced to his eighth overall win this season in street stock
action winning over Newville’s Gary Johnston, Shippensburg’s Randy
Patterson, Dave Motter and Pet Beard.
RAHMER, RAIN WIN AT LINCOLN
Fred Rahmer won the first Twin 20 for 410 Sprints Saturday at Lincoln
Speedway.
Rahmer passed Brian Leppo on lap 13 and drove to his 153rd career Lincoln
win over Leppo, Doug Esh, Brian Montieth and Chad Layton.
The second 20 lap feature was postponed at 12:45am when rain hit the track.
Layton was leading.
Danny Dietrich raced to his first career 358 sprint car win at Lincoln
after leading the final seven laps to become the third member of the racing
Dietrich’s to win in the Pigeon Hills.
Cory Haas, Enola’s Nicole Bower, Bill Dietrich and John Barnett were the
top five finishers. Gardners driver Jay Galloway was 24th.
The thundercar feature was rained out.
SHAFFER WINS SELINSGROVE
Todd Shaffer inherited the lead on the final lap of Sunday’s 25-lap sprint
car feature at Selinsgrove Speedway when leader Doug Esh ran low on fuel.
Shaffer then held off Lucas Wolfe, Mike Erdley, Fred Rahmer and Chad Layton
for the win in the Beam Racing sprinter.
Scott Haus won the 25-lap late model feature over Coleby Frye, Jason
Covert, Alan Sagi and Steve Campbell.
GRETH TOPS PATH VALLEY
Ryan Greth was declared the winner of the 600 Micro Sprint feature Friday
at Path Valley Speedway after race winner Aaron Spahr failed to report to
post race inspection.
Greth won over Kevin Steele, Newville’s Timmie Barrick, Kyle Moody and
Tyler DeVault. Jim Still was the 270 Micro Sprint winner over Sean
McAndrew, Rich Shepard, Steve Whary and Tom Tice while Geremy Sheaffer won
the Legends over Randy Kissinger and Steve Nederostek.
Kevin Thomas won the mini stocks, Josh Berrier the super stocks and Mike
Brindle the thundercars.
OTHER WEEKEND ACTION
Ashley Barrett recorded a career first late model sportsman win Saturday at
Hagerstown Speedway over Richard Walls, Andy Fries, Cody Lear and Pete
Weaver.
Robbie Stillwagon captured his first ever win on the URC Sprint tour with a
Saturday night win at Delaware International Speedway. He won over Ed Aiken,
Davey Sammons, Mark Bitner and Brian Seidel.
Scott Haus captured the late model win on Friday at Bedford Speedway over
DJ Troutman, Scott Rhodes, Wayne Johnson and Jack Pencil. Andy Fries was the
limited late model winner with Newville’s Donnie Farling placing sixth.
Randy Whisler was the 358 Sprint car winner Friday at Trail-Way Speedway.
