It was a near
perfect night for Lucas Wolfe Saturday at Lincoln Speedway.
After setting fast time for the 19th annual Hank Gentzler Memorial
Manufacturer’s Appreciation Night event, the 20-year old Mechanicsburg racer
then won a spirited battle with 2007 Lincoln track champion Fred Rahmer before
bringing home the $4,000 payday for his fifth overall 410 Sprint car win this
season.
For Wolfe, the win was the ninth overall win this year as well. He has four
wins in Rick Kaylor’s 360 sprint car. It was his third win at Lincoln this
season.
Wolfe led lap one but yielded to Cory Haas who went out front on lap two.
Haas led until lap 16 when Wolfe went back out front. However, Wolfe’s lead was
short lived as Rahmer drove to the front on the 19th lap.
But Wolfe wasn’t ready to play dead as he drove back around Lincoln’s champ and
then proceeded to drive away for a near three second margin of victory in the
Jim and Laura Allebach owned, Rick’s Auto Body & Auto Care/Beerhill Gang
machine.
Alan Krimes finished third over Haas and Greg Hodnett with Doug Esh, Brian
Leppo, Lance Dewease, Tim Shaffer (in a second Joe Darrah owned car) and Cris
Eash.
Duane Watson won the thundercar feature over Jimmy Combs, Craig Wagaman, Danny
Beard and Al Crammer.
CARBER WIRES GROVE FIELD
For the second time this season, Michael Carber started on the front row of the
25-lap 410 Sprint car feature and led every lap for the win at Williams Grove
Speedway.
Carber’s win came Friday night as he held off Steve Buckwalter and 12th
starting Greg Hodnett at the checkered flag.
Jeff Shepard was fourth and Fred Rahmer fifth. Todd Shaffer finished 10th and
holds a 175 point advantage over Rahmer for the Cindy Rowe Auto Glass point
standings heading into this week’s National Open.
Danny Hager won the Super Sportsman feature over Rich Eichelberger, Gregg
Foster, John Stehman and Duaine Smith. Frankie Herr finished 20th but won the
Super Sportsman track championship for a second straight season.
BIG WIN FOR MCCLELLAND
Brad McClelland started on the pole but had to get back around Bill Dietrich
before taking the big $2,000 to win Trone Outdoor Advertising 358 Sprint
championship Friday at Trail-Way Speedway.
Dietrich settled for second over Dale Hammaker, Jeff Rohrbaugh and Danny
Dietrich. Rohrbaugh won the 2007 358 sprint car track championship.
Craig Wagaman was the thundercar winner over Bobby Beard, Allen Cullum, Kyle
Martin and Scott Fisher while Doug Bennett raced to the street stock win over
Kevin Sprague, Randy May, Todd Miller and Ted Forsythe.

Young Chambersburg racer Michael Heckman won Saturday’s 305 Sprint Nationals at
Path Valley Speedway over Mike Freet, Jim Kennedy, Craig Robinson and Wes
Zimmerman.
Donnie Hendershot topped the 1000 Sidewinders Nationals over Ben Murphy, Rohan
Beasley, Jeremy Lynch and Heath Hehnly.
Ryan Wilson was the 600 Micro National winner over Brent Marks, Ben Murphy,
Mike Rutherford and Tom Kohler while Sean McAndrew was the 270 Micro National
winner over Steve Dunmire, Rich Shepard, Ryan Wilson and Chad Thomas.
Friday night racing at Path Valley saw Mike Dicely winning three times. He
picked up wins in the 1000, 600 and 270 Micro sprint features.
In the 1000’s, he took the win over Tim Mertz, Donnie Hendershot, Kerry Schanz
and Denny Landvater while he outran Tim Glatfelter, Jim Brookens, Ben Murphy and
Heath Hehnly to win the 600’s. He was victorious over Brian Marriott, Tim Mertz,
Chad Thomas and Tom Tice in the 270’s.

Garlock and Scott Richwine.

stocks) and John Rasp (thundercars).
